Gallery Koyanagi is pleased to present “Gallery selection” from July 4 to August 21, 2024. The exhibition will show a new work by Mark Manders, on view for the first time in Japan; Thomas Ruff's “ma.r.s,” based on images of Mars taken by NASA's exploration ship; Hiroshi Sugimoto's “Theater,” which captures the time of a single movie in a single photograph; and abstract paintings by Ebosi Yuasa exhibited at the National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo in March of this year.
Mark Manders' new sculpture uses a green-blue tint behind the head. Manders uses it as a color that cannot be defined in words, sometimes in combination with his own Fake Newspapers, and sometimes to create a landscape, such as the sky or the sea, in his works. In this work, it may represent the color of the sky during the daytime, as in the title Day Scene.
Mark Manders' Composition with Four Yellow Verticals (2017-19) and other works are being exhibited in "Lines —Aligning your consciousness with the flow" at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa from June 22 to October 14.
Please look forward to Mark Manders' solo exhibition at Gallery Koyanagi in December this year.
